Hylton Injured in Rockingham American 200.

James Hylton was released Sunday night (10/11/09) from the Moore Health Regional Medical Center in Pinehurst, NC after being involved in a fiery accident during the ARCA RE/MAX Series American 200 at the Rockingham Raceway. The crash forced Hylton out of the race and relegated him to a 37th place finish. He was discharged from the Medical center with a reported ankle injury.
After the race, ARCA officials surrounded the car for a final inspection before allowing Hylton’s crew to load it for the trip back to Inman.
“James had been running good all day. He missed the car that triggered the wreck, and had thanked the spotter for talking him through it, then a car rear-ended him, sending him into the inside wall. James was worried about the car in the infield hospital. We only had four races on this one and it was our best one,” said Hylton’s crew chief Terry Strange shortly after the race.
Hylton competed in 19 of the 20 ARCA RE/MAX races this season and placed 15th in the final points standing for the year.
